Guides

Learn before you launch.

Practical guides covering Solana tokens, token authorities, metadata and the basics of launching safely.

Create your first SPL token

Understand the main fields in SolForge and what happens when you submit a token creation transaction.

Open Token Creator

Choosing token decimals

Learn how decimals affect the way token amounts are represented on-chain and displayed to users.

Mint authority explained

Understand who can mint additional supply and what changes when the mint authority is revoked.

Freeze authority explained

Learn what freeze authority does and why some token creators choose to permanently revoke it.

Token metadata

Understand names, symbols, metadata URIs, images and the role of Metaplex metadata accounts.

Immutable metadata

Learn what making metadata immutable means and why you should verify the metadata before using the option.

Before you create a token

  • Confirm the token name and ticker are what you intend to publish.
  • Check the total supply and decimal configuration carefully.
  • Understand whether you want to keep or revoke mint and freeze authorities.
  • Verify your metadata and image before making metadata immutable.
  • Review every transaction in your wallet before approving it.

After creation

Save the mint address and transaction signature. Anyone can independently inspect the resulting on-chain account and transaction using a Solana explorer.

A token existing on Solana does not automatically create a market, liquidity pool, price or trading volume. Those are separate activities that require additional on-chain actions.
